Symposium in honor of George Gamow and his work in astronomy, cosmology, nuclear physics, and the genetic code, which was held in celebration of the 175th anniversary of George Washington University in 1996. Speakers include: Ralph Alpher, Hans Bethe, Robert Herman, Alex Rich, Vera Cooper Rubin, Roger Stuewer, Robert Wilson. The last tape includes tributes and reminiscences about Gamow by the participants who knew and worked with him.
